On Sunday, November 26 at 9:30 am, a group will carpool from Knox to go hiking at Devil’s Punchbowl Park near Valyermo and Pearblossom. The Devil’s Punchbowl Park is located along the San Andreas fault and features sandstone strata jutting up from the earth formed by water flow from the San Gabriel Mountains. We will take the 1 ½ mile Devil’s Punchbowl loop. We should return around 2:30 pm. The church will provide lunch, water, and a trail snack. Joining us on the hike are Dr. Yang Liu and Rev. Dr. Tod Bolsinger. Dr. Yang Liu is a research scientist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Geogphysics and Planetary Geoscience. Rev. Dr. Tod Bolsinger is a Presbyterian pastor and currently serves as the Vice President and Chief of the Leadership Formation Platform. Yang and Tod will lead us on a hike that combine reflections on geology and on Scripture.
