Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Luke 18:16
All ages and stages are invited to join us in our services.
Our community embraces and celebrates the joy (and the noises) of children in worship. We encourage you to sit close, so that your kids have a good view of everything happening up front. After the opening songs, we invite all of the kids forward to the front steps for a children’s sermon. Following the children’s sermon, our youngest congregants will be dismissed to Sunday School classes (Pre-K to 4th grade). Our nursery is open from the beginning of the service for kids up to 3 years old. After the service, we have games and toys for the kids to play with on our large open lawn in the center of campus.
Throughout the year, we plan a few activities for the whole family to enjoy such as film nights on our lawn, outdoor concerts, and our annual BBQ and Bluegrass evening. We also try to connect families through small groups. We have just started a connection group for families of young children (Pre-K and younger). Connection groups are informal small groups that are always open and happen once or twice a month. There is a parent’s play group that meets twice a month on Mondays. Quarterly, the young families group plans an activity on the weekend for working parents to be able to join as well.

Nursery: Our nursery rooms are located in the building adjacent to the Knox Sanctuary called the Atrium. There will be paid nursery staff along with parent and youth volunteers to care for our children ages 3 months old to 3 years old teaching them to know God’s love.
Pre-K to Kindergarten: Meet in the front of the Atrium. Children are taught by volunteers using a curriculum that combines Godly Play and Spark! Lectionary.
1st Grade: Meets in the middle classroom of the Atrium. Children are taught by volunteers using a hybrid of Spark! Lectionary.
2nd to 4th Grade: Meet in the front of the Northside House. Children are taught by volunteers using the Spark! Lectionary curriculum.
Knox Kids Safety Reminder
Parents of Knox Kids 6 years old and younger are asked to pick them up promptly following service. Older children will be dismissed to the lawn. There is no childcare on the lawn after service. Please keep an eye on your kids during fellowship time so you know where they are and what they are up to.
