Lenten Poppy Pilgrimage

The Knox Sustainability Team and Adult Education and Spiritual Formation Committee are cosponsoring a Lenten Pilgrimage to the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve on Saturday, March 25. Meet at Knox at 8 a.m. to carpool to the reserve, arriving between 9:30 and 10. After walking among the wildflowers, we will observe the Stations of the Cross and meditate on flourishing in the scarcity of the desert. We’ll enjoy a picnic lunch among the poppies and then return to Knox by mid-afternoon. Walking at the poppy reserve is easy, with a maximum of 200 ft gain, and there is a paved path for those with mobility challenges. Children are welcome. Dress in layers; wear sturdy walking shoes, sunscreen, and a hat; bring water and a sack lunch.
