Join us for our monthly midweek event on the third Wednesday of each month, on Wednesday, February 19, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The evening will begin with a group dinner from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. Following dinner, children and middle schoolers will have their own activities. High schoolers and adults will attend a presentation entitled Rebuilding Community from the Ashes: Indigenous Christian Perspectives, featuring special guests Mona Morales Recalde and Samantha Johnson from the Gabrieleno San Gabriel Band of Mission Indians led by the Gabrieleno-Tongva Tribal Council. The pair are also active members of La Verne Heights Presbyterian Church – a P.C.(U.S.A.) congregation where Mona has long served as a ruling elder. They will share insights on recovery and rebuilding after the Eaton fire, especially regarding recently returned land affected by the wildfire in Altadena.
