What to Expect

Directions & Parking:

The church is south of the 210 Freeway off of the Hill Avenue exit. The church is located on the corner of Hill and Del Mar Blvd at 225 South Hill Avenue Pasadena, CA 91106.

[Get Directions to Knox]

Our parking lot is located behind the church. You can enter the parking lot from Del Mar Blvd or Cordova Street. We have visitor parking spots reserved for you in front of the church. If you have trouble finding parking in the lot, there is street parking available along Del Mar and Cordova as well as south on Hill Avenue. Pasadena Community College hosts a flea market on the first Sunday of the month, which makes street parking more difficult. We recommend arriving a few minutes early on these Sundays, to be able to find parking.

Sunday Worship:

Our worship service begins at 10 a.m. in our sanctuary and lasts about an hour. We are also livestreaming our service every Sunday morning . In order to watch the service through our livestream, or to see previous services, click here. People are welcome to arrive late or leave early if they wish.

Dress:

People tend to dress on the casual side at Knox, though you will see some people dressed “business casual,” others in shorts or jeans, still others in a dress or suit and tie. It’s hard to go wrong at Knox in terms of what you wear.

Music:

Our service offers a dynamic blend of contemporary and classic music styles featuring our band, choir and vocal ensemble, and organist as well occasional guest musicians.

Kids and Youth:

Our community embraces and celebrates the joy (and noises) of children in worship and so we welcome people of all ages to participate in worship with us for the beginning of our service. After the opening songs, we invite all of the kids to the steps for a children’s sermon. Following the children’s sermon, Pre-K to 12th grade are invited to go to their Sunday School classes in our Atrium and Northside House. Our nursery is open from the beginning of service for kids up to 3 years old. On the first Sunday of each month, those in 6th-12th grade remain in worship for the whole service.

The Lord’s Table:

We celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of the month. Children who departed for Sunday school return to the service in time to receive communion.

Welcome Table:

Visit the Welcome Table on the patio after service where we have maps of our church, information about our ministries and upcoming events, and a complimentary gift for you.
